Thank you!
A National Historic Landmark located in the heart of Capitol Hill, the Sewall-Belmont House and Museum is the headquarters of the historic National Woman's Party and was the Washington home of its founder and Equal Rights Amendment author Alice Paul. We offer monthly educational programming and is open for public tours five days a week. The archive is open to students and researchers to help preserve the legacy of the National Woman's Party and its founder Alice Paul.
Some of the many great things you'll find here:
- Original banners used to picket the White House from 1917-1919
- Susan B. Anthony's desk that was given to Alice Paul
- Elizabeth Cady Stanton's chair
- An original jail door pin given to women who were imprisoned for suffrage
- Original Nina Allender cartoons
