Public Programs
Public programs showcase the Museum's commitment to preserving NWP founder Alice Paul's legacy—the achievement of women's equal rights—and telling the untold and unfinished stories for the benefit of all the world's citizens.
Public programs include special programs, group tours of the Museum, and outreach programs for organizations. There may be a program fee to help offset Museum expenses. For information regarding programs, fees, or to schedule an outreach program, please contact , Education Coordinator.
Special educational programs offered at the Sewall-Belmont House and Museum are scheduled regularly, are free and open to the public, and may include guest speakers, panel discussions, receptions, book signings and other co-sponsored events. Public programs from the past have included special exhibit openings, women's history month festivities, and equality day celebrations, as well as annual events such as the holiday party, the Alice Award, and the Symons Lecture Series. The Alice Award: Women Breaking Barriers
The Alice Award is presented at an annual fundraising dinner held at the Sewall-Belmont House and Museum. Named for Alice Paul, suffragist, human rights activist and founder of the National Woman's Party, the Alice Award honors a distinguished woman who has made an outstanding contribution in breaking barriers and setting new precedents for women. Past recipients include tennis star Billie Jean King, Supreme Court Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Sandra Day O'Connor and philanthropist Evelyn Lauder, and Tipper Gore.

Joanne L. Symons Speakers Series: Women's Voices Being Heard
Organized by the Joanne L. Symons Memorial Committee to help realize her passion for ensuring women's voices are heard, this speaker series sponsors lectures by women of great accomplishment speaking about their lives and experiences. The inaugural lecture featured Justice Sandra Day O'Connor.

Group Tours
Reservations are required at least two weeks in advance for groups of 10 or more. The Museum can accommodate up to 25 visitors at one time. Groups greater than 20 are divided in half to tour the Museum. The tour typically runs 45-60 minutes and consist primarily of a short video on either women's suffrage or the Equal Rights Amendment (or both for longer presentations),a guided tour and time for question/answers with the docent. There is a presentation fee to offset museum expenses. To schedule a group tour and for information regarding group tour fees, please contact , Education Coordinator.
Adult/Organization Outreach
Programs for adults/organizations typically run 30-45 minutes and can be formatted, depending on the topic, as a lecture, discussion/roundtable, answer and question session, or any combination. The program primarily includes a Sewall-Belmont House and Museum staff member or special speaker, a short video on either women's suffrage or the Equal Rights Amendment, and a display of NWP historical artifacts. There is a presentation fee to offset museum expenses.
