Overview
The Sewall-Belmont House and Museum's educational programs encourage lifelong learning for audiences of all ages by positioning leadership and empowerment within the story of the longest civil rights movement in the country—women's equality.
The Museum offers in-house tours and programs for school groups, families, and the general public as well as outreach presentations that bring the Museum to you. We offer resources for teachers, research information for scholars and students, and internship opportunities. For more details about the educational components of the Sewall-Belmont House and Museum, explore the pages in the "Education" section in the navigation bar above.
Our educational programs promote equality for all people and contain contemporary issues framed by the historical context of the suffrage movement. We are a women's history museum that can show up-close examples of women's abilities to lead, samples of tools and strategies for activism, and how women have advocated for change.
Our educational programs take place throughout the year and are on various topics such as suffrage, equal rights, the women's movement, important women in history, and other topics related to women's rights. Programs are specially tailored to each group/audience and can include presentations, videos, discussions, hands-on activities, Museum tours, and special exhibits featuring the National Woman's Party unique collection. We take particular care to ensure that our programs contain contemporary issues framed within the historical context. There may be a small fee for some programs to help off-set Museum costs.
